Enjoy the upcoming International Museum Day at Meštrović Gallery!
As part of this year’s International Museum Day, the Meštrović Gallery will host the 22nd Educational Museum Action entitled “Secret Mythology”, which will reveal to visitors the details behind some of Meštrović’s works with mythological motifs. The event will take place on May 18, 2017.
Meštrović has often resorted to topics from ancient and Slavic mythology, and apart from their primal significance, the event will point to their iconological meaning and see them in the context of Meštrović’s life and time in which they originated. This image-textual material will be hidden within the exhibition set, in parts. Visitors will then be able to compile an identification book of selected sculptures through the “search game” after gathering all parts.
In addition to the game, a children’s corner will be set up for the younger visitors, where children can paint patterns with the motifs of Meštrović’s works and attach their drawings to a personalized booklet.
