If you missed out on experiencing the World Cup in Split, don’t worry – we have you covered.
Yes, we know, all of this World Cup talk is probably boring you by now, but because it may be another 20 years before we get to live through this again – we’re riding it out as long as we can.
Split was one of the leading spots in Croatia to follow the World Cup this summer. Not only did the city have an official fan zone set up at Dardin park, but Croatia’s placement in the final against France prompted a massive big screen TV on the city’s waterfront promenade – the Riva.
Thousands of fans flocked to TV screens all over the city to catch the final, and their emotions were as vibrant as ever. Waves of excitement, nerves, joy, and anxiety rocked the faces of fans, but most importantly, the proudness they felt for their players was unmatched. After the game, even though Croatia lost, Split erupted into a grand celebration for their new World Cup finalists.
