Okay, okay….maybe we’re getting a little carried away with the burgers this week, but it’s not our fault that Split is currently pulling out all the stops with this newest burger infestation! We finally got to try Mama Burger Bar in Split today, located conveniently in Voćni Trg. We may still be pretty full from the lunch so excuse us, but this is definitely an expericence worth sharing.
Mama Burger Bar has just opened in recent months in one of the most central locations in Split. It’s no wonder tourist and local eyes kept approaching this new establishment, grazing over the menu and salivating at the juicy burgers patrons of the restuarant had on their plates. Here’s what we thought.
Order: cheeseburger and a side of french fries, 0.3l of Ožujsko. The staff was fun, laughing in the back, spitting out jokes, excited to give us that first bite of their perfectly made burger. The burger itself was meaty, the bun was sesame, the cheese melted to supremacy. Topped with lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, onions, and a Mama made sauce, it was pretty exemplary of a classic American burger. We definitely finished it in one sitting.The fries were fresh, the scooped out pomfrit you see often around Split these days. They were piping hot and melted in your mouth, seasoned to excellence. The beer, well, what better to wash down a burger and fries but a beer? It was cold, crisp, and a perfect addition to the meal.
Mama Burger Bar has an extensive menu, carrying everything from a classic burger, a hot mama burger (spicy), bbq burger, fancy mama burger (made with lamb and feta), and a chicken burger. They also have three different sausage options from white, kranjska, and with cheese, and they also serve chicken nuggets. They have seasonal salads, chicken salads, and mediterranean salads, and one of the best parts? They do breakfast! You can order a classic toast (ham, cheese, and dressing), a club sandwich (oh, baby), or a vege toast (with grilled vegetables, tomoatoes, lettuce, and hummus). They also serve juices and those looked refreshing as ever!
All in all, we are here to give our seal of approval for Mama Burger Bar. Our bellies were full, happy, and we had just the right amount of American flair to get us through the day. Definitely head out and support this new Split establishment before everyone else does, Mama’s is waiting for you!
