Nature Park Marjan to Get an Updated Look

Marjan: A Popular place for fitness enthusiasts, recreational training, and all lovers of the outdoors. As the facilities at the park wear thin, many of those that visit Marjan wonder – when will it get an upgrade?

Slobodna Dalmacija reports that the Director of Park Marjan, Robert Koharević, has stated that they are now actively working on giving the park a much needed upgrade. Within the next few months, Marjan should have a new watchtower, have renovated the existing jogging paths, implemented work out trainings in the open, and set 22 plates with QR codes for walkers to become more familiar with the Marjan park facilities.

The Ministry of Culture has funded 180,000 kuna for the realization of the new watchtower, which now must be implemented. This amount, with the help of European funds, will realistically get the project completed.

In October, the park has plans to apply for a grant to invest in a new jogging track, as well as educational boards. At Bene, on the left side of the ramp, there are plans to set up an exercise complex, amounting to around 60,000 kuna. New plates with QR codes will cost about 120,000 kuna, and a new jogging track will cost around 200,000 kuna.

The park now waits to see if the funds will be approved, and if not, will have to look for other alternatives.
