Feđa Klarić is a legendary photojournalist from Split that captured “the life around him.”

Ask any local in Split who Feđa Klarić is, and we guarantee you that more often than not, they will not only give you his biography but will tell you his story with a smile.

Feđa Klarić is arguably one of the most legendary photographers in Split, having worked for Slobodna Dalmacija from 1971 until 2011 when he retired. For years, Klarić worked together with Split’s most famous reporter, Miljenko Smoje, and together they spanned Dalmatia in length and breadth.

In recent years, Klarić has been an active member of Fotoklub Split, and since 2004, he has taken the role as the club’s president.

A name that is known everywhere from the small villages to the major cities, today we take a look at Klarić’s work through a series of photographs from the summer of 1985.
