To help celebrate the patron saint of Split, Sv. Duje, the city has prepared a number of events for everyone to enjoy.
While the festivities have already been in full swing, tomorrow brings a number of new celebrations to honor the patron saint.
Here are the events you shouldn’t miss on Thursday, May 4th, 2017.
Gastro Get Festival
Eight restaurants in the city center (the “ghetto”) join forces for the Gastro Get festival which will be held through May 7, 2017. Read more about the event and menus.
Exhibition: Cultural Heritage of Croatan Ships
At 11:00, the Croatian Maritime Museum will open the exhibition “Cultural Heritage of Croatian Ships” which will present the works of the primary pupils from O.Š. ”Marjan”
Traditional hanging of the Croatian flag at Sv.Duje
At 12:00, Split climber Ivica Matković will hang the Croatian flag on the cross at the top Sv. Duje and thus announce the celebration of the patron saint of Split
Exhibition: “New Research for Split Cathedral”
At 18:00, the Palace Skočibučić-Lukaris will host the exhibition “New Research for Split Cathedral”, organized by the Conservation Department of the Ministry of Culture and the Split-Makarska archdiocese
“Šotobraco Split” – KUD Jedinstvo
At 19:00, the city squares and streets in the city center will see ”Šotobraco Split” with performances by members of KUD Jedinstvo
Split akvarel
At 20:00, the Croatian National Theatre in Split will host a performance of Ivo Tijardović’s “Split akvarel”, directed by Krešimir Dolenčić
Opening of the Tourist palace
At 20:00, the opening ceremony of the Tourist Palace will take place on the Riva
