Who needs a company? Kombinat Borovo, ’88. – ’91. at Kocka: The exhibition is based on the many years of research carried out by Borovo Group (Sven Cvek, Snježana Ivcic and Jasna Račić) on class struggles in Borovo during the pre-war years. Their research titled Continuity of Social Conflict 1988-1991: Combine Borovo’s account is, the socio-political climate of the late 80s and early 1990s, the time of social and economic reforms and the beginning of the disappearance of social property, as well as the first explicit nationalist aspirations that will ultimately escalate into war conflicts. It is precisely the format of the exhibition, by virtue of its visual nature, that it has enabled a vivid presentation and mapping of the frequency of various phenomena such as strikes or waiting and “pairing” with certain political contexts, with the aim of trying to detect the connection between events that led to the destruction of one of the most successful factories in Yugoslavia and events that resulted in bloody conflicts and the rise of the Republic itself.
