Hint: There’s a lot.

Welcome to the holiday weekend!

As expected, this weekend is not just filled with the smells and tastes of Bakalar, but with so much more to offer.

From live music to the theatre and a lot of eating, here’s a look at what’s going on in Split from Thursday, December 21 to Sunday, December 24, 2017.

Ol’ smo jedan dan at HNK 20h: 2017 marks 140 years since the birth and 70 years since the death of Split writer and journalist Marko Uvodić Splićanin. On this occasion, the Drama HNK Split will feature a unique program to mark the anniversary of this author who has left an indelible mark on the history of Split Theater. In a series of stage shows, actors will try to revive the words, face and mentality of our city through a series of nights, through the records of one of the most important chroniclers of Split.

Chasing Milagros! at Paradox – 20h: C#asing M!Lagros is a music collective. The collective composition is not always the same, but the energy remains. Country, retro-pop and a drum-hypnotic reggaeton can be heard.

Brzi & Gost at Kavana Ovčice – 21.30h: Prof. Vlado Brzović finished the”Josip Hatze” school in Split and graduated at the Music Academy in Zagreb. He is a participant in many national and international competitions and has won many awards. He participates in seminars and masterclasses of world-renowned pedagogues and guitarists, acts as a soloist and member of various chamber ensembles and is a member of the chamber composition Laurum. He is the author of “Rock Suite” for 4 guitars as well as a collection of 3 solo guitar compositions entitled “Three Microfantasies”.

Mayales at Judino Drvo – 23.00: Mayales were founded in the early 1990s when Petar Beluhan created the project “Lagano lagano”. They were the amazing high-quality messengers of a new music stream in Croatia – funky / acid jazz, which were found in the rhythms of Dino Dvornik, Haustor and the like. Today, their music is a blend of vintage retro rock and psychedelic music mixed with the all-time smart and frivolous pop-rock on the trail of Tame Impala, Beck, My Morning Jacket. This year’s “Simbol za sunce” is one for the books.
