The Dalmatian Hinterland Makes their Mark in Solin this Weekend

This Saturday, July 30, a traditional evening for “Zagora”, celebrating the Dalmatian hinterland, will be held as part of the Solin Cultural Summer program.

A classic folklore event will be organized this Saturday, forging the traditions and customs of the Dalmatian hinterland with the rich history of Solin. The event will take place in the Solin Gradina.

 

As part of the event, all participants will pass through the Solin city center through Zvonimira street, in a solemn procession up to the ruins. The evening will then begin, filled with songs of the hinterland in the style of “ojkavica”, “treskavica”, and “rera do ganga”. All of the historic customs, carriages, and costumes will be shared with patrons young and old.

 

Participants of the event are: KUD Srce Zagore, KUD Putalj kaštela, KUU Andrija Matijaš Pauk Marina, KUD Komoštre – Ogorje, KUD Jadro Solin, MPS Sv. Ilija Kljaci, KUD Naši korjeni – Kljaci, KUD Komaštre – Ogorje, KUD Zvonimir, friends in ojkavica from Kaštela and the Association of Traditional Music Dinarids.

 

The organizer of the event is KUD Srce Zagore under the auspices of the City of Solin and the Tourist Board of Solin. The guiding theme follows, “Oh, Zagora the heart of Dalmatia, what would we be without you.”

 

The event will be held at Solin Gradina on Saturday, July 30 at 21h. Admission to the event is free.
