ULTRA Europe Day One Recap: Any Incidents?

Daniela Rogulj

The first day of ULTRA Europe has come and gone, and as we head into day two (yes, Total Split will be reporting live from the event tonight), how did day one go?

An outstanding 34 artists performed last night across four attractive stages to kick off the celebratory 5th edition of the ULTRA Europe music festival at Poljud last night. The first day of the festival ran into the early morning hours and ended with an incredible fireworks display.

Fortunately, we can report that there were no significant safety events that disturbed the peace on a large scale, no threats to the public, and no significant property damage, reported the Split police. Dalmacija Danas gives us the details on July 15, 2017.

On the other hand, 126 people were detained, including both Croatian and foreign nationals. Most were detained due to violations of the Act on Combating Drug Abuse (93). There were seven criminal acts of “Unauthorized production and drug trafficking,” and 13 offenses under “Offenses against public order and peace.”

In the process, police officers seized a total of 562 ecstasy pills, 152.2 grams of marijuana, 13.31 grams of cocaine, 11.45 grams of amphetamines, 32.28 grams of MDMA, 1.04 grams of LSD and 0.85 grams of hashish.

The live broadcast of the first night of the festival was watched by more than 5 million people through the UMF TV YouTube channel, and judging by the lineup tonight, this figure will surely be even larger tonight.
