Consider this your chance to shine.
Hopefully, some of you know by now that Netflix is filming a movie in Croatia! And not only are they shooting in the most beautiful country in the world, but you even have a chance to make a star appearance.
Netflix has been hosting casting calls for extras all over Croatia in the last few weeks, and while there have been casting calls held in Zagreb, Rijeka, and Zadar, those of us in Split now get our chance at fame.
Dalmatinski Portal announces on September 5, 2017, that a casting call will be held tomorrow at Poljud Stadium for all of you aspiring movie stars looking for those 15 seconds of fame. The only real requirement for those interested is that you must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old – talk about the perfect opportunity for camera-hungry millennials.
While the Netflix casting call has not released information on what exactly the actors will be filming, here is what we can gather after doing some research.
Many of us in Croatia know by now that Netflix will be filming a comedy movie on Pag at Zrće Beach titled “Ibiza” later this month. We are aware that the film will star Richard Madden of Game of Thrones’ fame (Robb Stark, anyone?) as he takes on the new role of a famous DJ. Madden will be followed by Gillian Jacobs who travels to Spain with her friends to close a business deal. What happens next, of course, is that Jacobs falls in love with Madden and realizes that this spark of life means much more than the job she hates.
The film could also see an appearance by Hollywood starlet Julia Roberts as husband Daniel Moder is behind the movie’s cinematography.
If this is all remains true, we have also heard that extras could film as early as next week when the film will be organizing their test shoots. Apparently, transport, accommodation, and food will be provided for the extras, as well as a daily fee. You can read more about what we know here.
And if, for some reason, Netflix is filming an entirely different project in Croatia this month that has nothing to do with the filming of “Ibiza”, well I’ll be damned.
Everyone interested from the ages of 18 to 35 is invited to join on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, from 10:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00 at the small playground Čarobni grad at Poljud where the castings will take place on a small stage.
Čarobni grad is located below the eastern tribune of Poljud stadium.
