What does Žnjan look like today?
With the summer quickly approaching, many of us are wondering if Žnjan will be ready for the upcoming season. For now, we know of the seven caterers whose temporary objects will grace the popular Split beach, and the final eighth location will be known in the following week, reports Dalmacija Danas on May 26, 2018.

Ante Šunjić from the Split city company Spalatum DMC said that everything is running according to plan, both with the construction in the area and in the catering facilities. The final temporary object on Žnjan will arrive by June 30 at the latest, and shortly after that, the caterers will equip their facilities, which will be the final phase of the works on Žnjan this summer.
“There are currently no obstacles that could lead to delays,” Šunjić added. The future catering facilities will be located between the promenade and the sea. This means that cars will no longer be able to reach the beach, which will contribute to less dust.
“Seven cafes will be on the coast, and one near the road next to the ramp where there were previously facilities for children. Apart from the catering facilities, there will be aquaparks and an area for scooters along the sea, and everything that a modern beach should have. At the moment, we know the seven caterers that will be on Žnjan this summer, and on Wednesday the final caterer will be known,” Šunjić revealed.
Regarding the temporary objects currently being developed, Šunjić added that he’s been working with a contractor twice a week and that they should be ready a few days ahead of the scheduled deadline.
“The final object will be placed on Žnjan by June 30, and the rest will be set up before. I can also say that five public toilets will be placed in many different locations. There will be 12 square meters of men’s and women’s cabins. We will also have two lockers for personal belongings.”
And parking?
“There will be 1200 parking spots which will be free, at least until the provisional solution on Žnjan ends, which is the end of 2019,” Šunjić concluded.
