The College and the Tourist Board will work together to help create a new generation of experts in tourism.
After their partnership with Jadranka Grupa, Edward Bernays College of Communication Management has established its first partnership on the county level – with the Zagreb County Tourist Board, HRturizam.hr reports on August 23, 2017.
The partnership agreement between Bernays and Zagreb County Tourist Board was agreed upon by the Director of the Tourist Board Ms Ružica Rašperić and Mr Damir Jugo, Bernays College Dean.”Thanks to our new partnership, students will be given the possibility of being directly involved in the daily activities of the tourist community, which includes nine cities, two municipalities and one tourist board area. By doing practical work, students will be introduced to specifics of different jobs within the organization and will be able to, under the mentorship of prominent tourist experts, participate in the design and implementation of various projects and services aimed at contributing to the development of tourism within the Zagreb County “, said Ms Rašperić.

Bernays College has a modern system for selecting students to attend their practical programmes and puts a strong emphasis on acquiring practical knowledge and experience during studying. Students attending the undergraduate programme “Management and Marketing of Tourist Destinations” will spend a maximum of 180 classes in the field and 210 classes attending practical training.
“Bernays is the only study programme in Croatia which offers a study programme in tourism destination marketing and management and the only in the region offering its students a specialization in Tourism Destination Branding, Destination Politics, and Tourist Guides and Interpretation in the Destination. That is why it is my great pleasure that the Zagreb County Tourist Board has decided to cooperate with Bernays and create tourism professionals for the future and develop their destination in line with the new trends, with the driving force and energy of the innovation and creativity of our students and professional teams”, Mr Jugo concluded.
