Hendrix Bridge Got a Makeover, Opening Ceremony Set for Tonight!

Total Croatia News

The opening ceremony is followed by a music show of a Jimy Hendrix cover band

The renovated Hendrix bridge in Zagreb will be ceremonially reopened by mayor Milan Bandić tonight at 9.30 PM, reports zagreb.info.

The famous Green Bridge, unofficially renamed after an inscription saying ‘HENDRIX’ was painted on the side of the bridge in the 80s, is equipped with new decorative lighting to accentuate the outline. The neutral white light will transform into a range of colours with each train passing over the bridge.

The ceremony will be followed by a live music show of Tomislav Krkač and the Jimy Hendrix cover band. The ceremony coincides with the 50th anniversary of Hendrix’s first album, making the event a part of a range of concerts dedicated to the legendary musician that are taking place all over the world today.

Now, if only the famous graffiti were allowed to appear on the bridge once again…
