A project named “Zagreb bijeli grad 1920.” (Zagreb the White City 1920) is taking place on Saturday, April 22nd 2017 in Klovićevi dvori Gallery. Multiple outdoor events will also take place at various locations in the Upper and the Lower Town.
Zagreb used to be a vibrant urban center that could easily compare to other grandiose European capitals back in the 20s. Arts and culture were flourishing, fashion designers followed latest trends, nightlife was thriving. “Zagreb bijeli grad” was devised as a time-machine that will take the visitors back into the roaring 20s, immersing them in sounds of charleston and dressing them in feathers and pearls.
A themed fashion show is being prepared, along with educational lectures, a dance performance and a costume design seminar.
The project was conceived by a group of students at the Faculty of Textile Technology as part of a graduate studies’ costume design program, mentored by Ivana Bakal D.A.
