Floraart International Garden Show is the largest horticultural event in this part of Europe that brings together numerous Croatian and foreign exhibitors and is visited by hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.
The first Flower Fair, organized by Večernji list, was held in Zagreb’s Upper Town in 1966. A company called “Arto” took over the organisational part in 1975, while Večernji list became the event’s sponsor. A breakthrough moment for the Fair happened in 1992 when it changed its name to Floraart, and a local company, Zrinjevac, took over the organisation. It was also a year of redefining the Fair into an international garden exhibition that moved from town atria, squares and streets of Upper Town to Prisavlje, next to Boćarski dom Zrinjevac.
The exhibition settled in at Bundek Park in 2006, where there is more than three thousand square meters of open space and two thousand square meters of closed space. Every year more than 200 exhibitors from Croatia present their work, as well as around 10 foreign exhibitors.
A number of promotions and various theme lectures are held for visitors as part of the exhibition. An important part of the exhibition are the Exhibitor Competition, Croatian Florists’ Cup , the Most Beautiful Home Garden Competition and secondary school students’ International Competition. Flowers and seedlings are traditionally sold during Floraart as well.
Visit the 52nd edition of Floraart May 8 -14, 2017 to see what else is in store. The exhibition is open every day, 9 a.m. – 9 p.m., and the events include concerts, lectures, workshops, and a special part of the exhibition that will be held at Grič Tunnel.
