The spectacular exhibition will be on display at Meštrović Pavilion November 25, 2017 – March 21, 2018.
Preparations for Nikola Tesla – Mind from the Future, the biggest art and science event in 2017, are slowly coming to an end, and the event is so popular that even Lonely Planet wrote about it recently.
The exhibition will open in exactly 30 days, on November 30, 2017, at the Meštrović Pavilion in Zagreb.
According to Hrvoje Markešić, the producer of the exhibition, every centimetre of the Pavilion will be used and changed for the exhibition, Jutarnji list reports on October 20, 2017.
“The 1,200 m2 of exhibition space at the Pavilion will be completely transformed for the exhibition. We will tear down walls and build new ones. Paint the space, add new elements, with the central part of the space housing a two-tonne, 12-metre sculpture,” Mr Markešić said.
The scenography for the multimedia exhibition is being prepared at Zagreb Fair’s Chinese Pavilion and the exhibition will be something that the Croatian audience has never seen before, an interactive film fresco.
Teslopolis
Helena Bulaja Madunić, the author and the curator of the exhibition, says that, by visiting the exhibition, visitors will be entering Tesla’s mind from the future.
“We are recreating Tesla’s final conceptual patent, which will be put into an unfinished mega hotel by Gaudi – Hotel Attraction,” Ms Bulaja Madunić says. Visitors will travel from Smiljan to New Zealand, passing through various stages of Tesla’s life, transforming the space and taking visitors through five different worlds. For example, Teslopolis will give visitors a chance to climb on top of the world and, emerged in the Art Deco atmosphere of the interwar period, experience the wealth and potential of the human creative spirit.
“Visitors will be walking through New York, visiting the top of General Electrics and Empire State Building. This model symbolises the top of the world and it shows that the only way is up, towards the stars, which is what Tesla aspired to,” says the author, adding that, much like Alice in Wonderland, visitors will find themselves in a completely new world, where they will find the untold stories of Tesla’s life and witness the creativity of the human mind.
EXPO
“A part of the exhibition will be an interactive Tesla theatre where people will have a chance to become Tesla for a moment, enjoying the surreal world of the futurist animated 3D film, ‘Tesla – The Invention of a Dream’,” the author concluded.
The exhibition will be open until March 21, 2018, and, after that, it will travel to New York, Budapest, Prague, Paris and Dubai World Expo 2020.
