Plans are to complete the main works on the restoration of this pearl of Hvar heritage by May, ahead of the central celebration of 150 years of organised tourism on Hvar

Archaeological works in the town Loggia are a continuation of research in the Red Salon undertaken last year. Already it is evident the site will provide completely new findings on the development of architecture and modification of city defences through historical periods.

Along with the archaeological works begin the conservation and restoration exploratory works, encompassing walls, ceilings and floors of the Loggia. Special attention and interest will be paid to the mural on the western wall, as well as the historical connection of the Loggia with the former Duke’s Palace, along with the eastern gates and connection with the atrium in front of the clock tower.

Based on the findings, the definitive renovation project will be drawn up, specifying the shape and final interior design. With restored infrastructure, the space of the town Loggia will be completely restored and brought to its public and cultural purpose.
