Finally! Hvar’s quality wines can now be ordered online for delivery throughout Europe.
It was an opportunity I saw a year ago with EU entry, but there was no time to do anything about it, never mind my lack of business sense, but one of the benefits of EU entry for Croatian wine lovers in Europe is that you can now buy Hvar wines online and have them delivered to the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland,
France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg,
Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden,
United Kingdom
Among the Hvar winemakers with wines available are Tomic, Zlatan Otok, Vujnovic and Dubokovic, although the online sales outlet says that they can source other wines on demand, so plenty of options to try the great wines of Svirce, for example, from Caric and PZ Svirce.
As I understand it from the site, you can mix cases too, and there is an excellent selection from other parts of Croatia too. Prices are not cheap, but this is the start of a new market, and one which will settle down.
So if you are missing a Hvar Plavac or a Tomic Hektorivich Prosek, why not take a browse on Croatian Wines?
