PZ Svirce: The Pride of Croatia Airlines

Total Croatia News

Updated on:

The more I travel away from Hvar, the more Hvar seems to jump out at every turn. I was surprised for example at just how many people had been to the island among the people I met in Munich in recent weeks.

And it is not only the island’s tourism which is going around the world. So too are its wines, and Hvar wines are now increasingly available internationally, from California to China, from London to Singapore.

One of the biggest exporters is PZ Svirce, the Svirce Cooperative, who in partnership with Badel 1862 export all over Europe. Their flagship organic Ivan Dolac Barrique is a regular top medal winner, and thoughts of Svirce came back to me as I boarded the flight to Split.

For there on the front cover of the Croatia Airlines magazine in front of me was a picture of one of Svirce’s finest, Mediterano, a fine Hvar red which can be enjoyed on board, as well as available with other Hvar wines at the duty free shops in Croatia’s airports.

Mediterano is but one of a wide range of PZ Svirce wines, which you can buy direct from the shop in the winery during working hours in Svirce. Learn more about their range on the PZ Svirce website.
