An article at Slobodna Dalmacija informs about the latest sewage system developments in Stari Grad.
Since the “Hvarski Vodovod” from Jelsa took over the construction works of the sewage system in Stari Grad, in cooperation with the “Helios Faros” hotels a coastal sewer and a pumping station were installed, so this ancient city finally got a much cleaner sea in the Stari Grad bay.
– The first phase of construction of the secondary sewage network is completed. The total cost is around 3,5 million kuna, which was largely financed by the Split-Dalmatia County, the Stari Grad town and the “Hvarski vodovod” and “Croatian waters” in smaller extent. However, this year, we applied with our project of completing the mixed sewer canals at the “Croatian waters”, which will actually mean the start of the second phase, costing 1.885.000 kuna, to be financed from EU funds – said Ivan Grgičević, Director of the “Hvarski vodovod” from Jelsa.
