Sustainable Island Association Calling to Forestation Action – UbodiBor

A new announcement from the Sustainable Island Association lead by the young Irena Dorić, whose enthusiasm seems to contagious.

At some point, each of us dreamed about planting a tree and enjoying its shade in the old days. Is there a better opportunity to fulfil this desire and at the same time help to preserve the biodiversity of the Hvar island by preserving a beautiful species from extinction?!

The goal of this project is to forestation the Hvar island with the dalmatian black pine, which will have a long-term impact on reducing and stopping the intensive soil erosion, which occurs on the bare ground due to a heavy-rain periods, helped by the high gradient of the terrain, taking the flood plain to the lower slope zones.

There will be 3 phases (locations to be announced):
– Saturday January 16, 2016
– Saturday January 30, 2016
– Saturday February 13, 2016

After the forestation, a dinner for all participants at the Tartajun and Pjover associations.
