Each July, the Kilos Fortress welcomes a reenactment of the ’1532 Battle of Klis’, an event that took place in the Kingdom of Croatia within the Habsburg Monarchy. The battle originally took place in 1532 when the Ottoman Empire army besieged Klis. Local fighters called ‘Uskoks’ defended the fortress, and apart from Klis’ Uskok association members, historical troops from Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary also participate in the reenactment.
