Istria Tourist Board, in cooperation with hotel company Maistra, has organized the first Istria Gourmet Festival with an aim to introduce new global trends and design perspective for the future development of Istrian gastronomy. The one-day event will be held on Monday, October 10 in the old tobacco factory on Obala Vladimira Nazora in Rovinj.
Istria Gourmet Festival will deliver lectures aimed especially at hotel houses and hotels of a high category, while the second part of the event will be adjusted to caterers and all who are interested in the gourmet theme. Renowned chefs from Michelin star restaurants will be in attendance, and with the best of lectures, roundtables and cooking shows, the first Istria Gourmet Festival will offer numerous opportunities to mingle with world names, sharing experiences and engaging.
The initiative of the County Tourist Board is to further develop Istria in the field of gastronomy, the area with the most significant progress in developing new tourism products while encouraging others to develop in this segment offer. The development of wine, top quality extra virgin olive oil, and Istrian white truffles, as well as the development of tourist services, have all cultivated the cuisine based on seasonal and local foods offered – through these traditions and innovations Istria has so far achieved remarkable results.
The Tourist Board of Istria launched this festival designed for tourist operators and caterers from Istria and other Croatian regions in order to encourage new ideas for improving the profession, to acquire new knowledge, and to encourage future breakthroughs.
