This Sunday, September 17, the town of Orahovica will host the 25th Čobanijada, a traditional competition in making čobanac, a Slavonian sheperd’s stew, reports Vijesti RTL on September 14, 2017.

The organizers of the event, the City of Orahovica and the Tourist Board Orahovica, expect numerous ‘masters of the stew’ to compete, as well as a large number of visitors.  The primary goal of the event is to gather and socialize while enjoying the traditional tasty dish.

For all contestants, the organizers have provided food (2 kg of meat and a bottle of wine), wood, fireplaces, tables and benches. All visitors will be able to enjoy a tasty čobanac for free, made by one of the co-organisers, LU “Vepar” Orahovica.
