While the hit film “Mamma Mia” is currently filming on Vis, a new Hollywood crew is set to arrive in Croatia next year.
The island of Hvar, specifically, was chosen as the destination to film the high-budget action thriller “Black Money Games” next spring. Directed by Adam Wright, Hollywood actor Tom Hanks will play the lead role, reports Jutarnji List on September 9, 2017.
The $50 million heavyweight project boasts a production team including Serbian actress Katarina Radivojević who visited locations throughout the Adriatic for weeks in search of the most suitable locations for the film. Radivojević who, in addition to acting, is also involved with the movie’s production – and even better, the actress has exclusively revealed the details of the film where she will also have one of the primary roles.

“The main producer is Joey Tufaro of Gold Star Films whose last three films have starred actors including Halle Berry, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Christopher Walken. Croatia will find itself in the film not only as a location but also through significant events in the movie. With our visit, we wanted to promote the movie, as well as examine the conditions and find the right filming locations,” says Radivojevic, who is still well-known to the audience of the region thanks to her role in the Nova TV series “Best Year”. After the first season of the series, the award-winning 38-year-old actress and star of famous films such as “Zone Zamfirove” and “Čarlstona za Ognjenku”, decided to continue her career in America, though she occasionally comes back to Serbia to film the hit “Ubice našeg oca”.
During the break of the series recording over the last few months, Radivojević traveled to Croatia with the US production team several times. The team traveled through Hvar, the Pakleni islands and finally Dubrovnik, where they stayed this week. In the end, the crew ultimately decided that Hvar would suit the film best. Radivojević was pleased, of course, because she said that she is in love with the island.
“They liked all of the locations very much, but to my great satisfaction, Hvar and Palmižana left them breathless. First of all, the ability to capture cadres full of action on the water, and in the background have the beautiful views of the city that look magnificent both day and night. The plan is that, alongside America and Hvar, we are filming at several locations including Prague, Paris, Cyprus and the Turks and Caicos Islands. My colleagues are very big acting names, but for now, all I can say is Tom Hank and Michael Franzese.
Two more actors will join the team, but negotiations are in progress, so apart from being big stars, that is all I can say for now. I am excited to act with such professionals and in an environment where I will be able to give my maximum,” concluded Radivojević.

Because the film follows “black money” from country to country, it is unclear now whether Tom Hanks will be a part of the filming on Hvar.
The film is currently in the pre-production phase.
