The 6th edition of the Postira Seaside Film Festival will take place from July 27- 31. The village of Postira is located on the island of Brač.
What started as a project between a few film enthusiasts in 2011 has transformed over the years into a cultural event, putting Postira on the map for international short films.
Held in the old town square in the small village of Postira on the island of Brač, more than 40 short films will be shown over 5 days. Four of the nights will be short fiction films, with the remaining night all about Croatian short films. The international films shown at the festival will compete for the audience approval award.
The program kicks off on the 27th with films from Canada, France, New Zealand, and the UK to name a few, moving along to the next few days focusing on midnight shorts and family films.
The Postira Seaside Film Festival was visited by 400 film enthusiasts each night for the 4th edition of the festival, with 1500 visitors in total – expecting the numbers this year to increase.
The festival is organized by a small group of enthusiasts from the associations “LANTERNA MAGICA” and “UNIKAT”, in an effort to further the cultural life of the small village of Postira.
The selector for this year’s program was independent filmmaker Marko Valič, a preselector for the Cottbus Film Festival in Germany, and 1st AD for films, commercials, and music videos.
