After Just Three Months of Work, First ”Green Bus Station” Opens in Varaždin!

Good news for Varaždin!

Varaždin has, after just three months of work, obtained a modern, green bus station, in which about seven million kuna was invested, Lokalni.hr reports.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 17th of September, 2018, the top of the building boasts a green roof with a terrace, and it is interesting to note that the Presečki Group, which is the owner of AP Varaždin and is the main investor, thought about having the station underground, but that initial idea was abandoned because, somewhat morbidly, there was once a cemetery at the same location.

The city quickly managed to reach an agreement on the way the existing building should be, as well as on the environment surrounding it.

As is being reported, this is the very first ”green station” in the whole of the Republic of Croatia, and in the second phase of works, everything needed for a bus park and for electric buses will be implemented. Presečki Group’s owner was of course warned of a potential lack of bus drivers, despite their ever-increasing salaries.

The works on getting the station into its final phase lasted just three months, and during that time, a temporary replacement station was put into use.
