The Croatian International Airshow Varaždin (CIAV), held at the Varaždin airport, will take place July 23-24 next weekend. The planned opening for visitors will be 10h.
In an effort to organize the best possible air spectacle not only in Croatia but throughout the wider region, CIAV 2016 is already at the forefront of creating truly unique and extraordinary airshows for aviation enthusiasts.
Visitors to the spectacle will have the opportunity to see flybys of military aircraft, with the list of participants this year ranging from Hungarian Air Force plane Gripen, Slovenian Air Force Pilatus PC-9M, Croatian Air Force’s MiG-21, the Ministry of Internal Affairs Eurocopter EC-135P, and many other general aviation aircrafts.

Being the only regional airshow during the summer of 2016, this year’s CIAV is expecting an increase in visitors by 25%. Because of this, you can expect a much richer program, including a better gastronomy offer, transport connections with more lines, an increase in info points, live video wall coverage, and of course an entertainment program for children with playgrounds and active workshops.
There will even be a large concert organized with Ivan Zak & Carevi after the airshow at the airport beginning at 21h and lasting until 04h. The concert is an additional 20kn for the first 1000 guests, and 30kn for every guest after.
Last year Air Club Varaždin celebrated 85 years since its founding, marking a truly exceptional period of time dedicated to active work in the aviation field. This milestone anniversary helps Air Club Varaždin stand tall amongst other similar civil aviation associations that exist internationally, helping them to make their mark and continue to exist through aviation programs and promotions.
