ARCA International Innovation Exhibition to Take Place in Zagreb

The 15th edition of the Exhibition will take place October 19 – 21.

Udruga Inovatora Hrvatske (Croatian Association of Innovators) is organising the 15th international exhibition of innovations ARCA 2017 and the 9th annual conference of innovations in agriculture, food industry and agricultural mechanisation, which will take place October 19 – 21, 2017 at the National and University Library in Zagreb. The main organiser is the Croatian Association of Innovators, in cooperation with IFIA, International Federation of Inventors Associations, the University of Zagreb, Croatian Association of Technical Culture and the National and University Library, and with partners including HAMAG BICRO, Croatian Agency for SMEs, Innovations and Investments, and under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts and the Croatian Chamber of Economy. The main sponsor of the event is KONČAR – Elektroindustrija d.d.

Entrepreneurs, members of the academia and the scientific community, as well as individuals and research teams in national associations from Croatia and from around the world – Iran, Lebanon, China, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Innovations presented will encompass different areas of work, from science, technology, electrical engineering, to medicine, agriculture and recreation and entertainment, some 150 areas in total.

The central event will be the panel discussion on Innovations in the Era of Digital Transformation (October 20, 11 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.), with speakers including Đuro Horvat of Tehnix d.o.o., Zvonimir Viduka of Altpro d.o.o., Prof. Miljenko Šimpraga, PhD, University of Zagreb Vice-Chancellor for innovations, technology transfer and communications, as well as two successful young entrepreneurs, Ivan Golubić and Luka Grgar. The panel will be moderated by Prof. Velimir Srića, PhD.

A part of the programme will be dedicated to young people, primary and secondary school students, including the lecture called Technical Innovations and the Young, by Zvonimir Vađon of I. Technical School Tesla (October 20, 10 a.m.) and “Connect and Network” Raspberry Pi competition by the Croatian Robotics Association (October 19, 12 p.m.). The winner of the competition will win a microcomputer.

The aim of this event is to present Croatian and foreign innovations in one place, connect all participants in the innovation chain and continue developing the culture of innovations in Croatia. One of the most important parts of the exhibition will be connecting innovators and entrepreneurs with the members of the scientific community and the academia in order to create innovative and competitive products and services.

The exhibition will be open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., October 19 – 20, and 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on October 21, when the closing and the awards ceremony will take place.
Entrance is free.

For the past 15 years, ARCA has been a place for discovering new ideas, projects and innovative products and services, unique in Croatia and abroad, creating successful new entrepreneurial and innovator stories. The exhibition has also been part of the story of an economic optimism, innovation and creation, and this year will be no different.
