Far from being quiet after the main tourist season, life on the waterfront in Split before Christmas is getting busier each year.
That the Christmas Fair in Split is a fantastic opportunity for caterers and craftsmen to make some money is proven by the fact that every year at the Waterfront and at the Voćni Square there are more and more kiosks. This year, it is expected that there will be as many as 50 kiosks constructed, while last year there were just 38 of them, reports Slobodna Dalmacija on October 7, 2015.
On Tuesday, the Split Tourist Board published a call to all those interested in “presenting and selling their products and services at the Christmas Fair at the Split Waterfront in 2015” to download all the necessary documents from the website www.visitsplit.com. The deadline for submission of bids ends on 20 October at 2 pm, and the results will be announced six days later, also on the internet.
The Christmas Fair will this year take place not only on the Waterfront and at the Voćni Square, but also on the Prokurative. It will be opened on 1 December 2015 and close on 9 January 2016.
As far as kiosks are concerned, 25 of them will be reserved for caterers, while the rest will be rented out to traders, primarily of local products and services, Christmas ornaments, books, multimedia, souvenirs and gifts, as well as for the presentations of local tourist boards of counties, cities, municipalities, various chambers of commerce, etc.
“We call on citizens and businesses from all over the county to submit their bids for the presentation and sale of their products and services which are closely related to the Christmas season and gift-giving traditions, and we also call on all the others to come to the fair which will be, according to our estimates, visited by more than 500,000 people this year”, said the Split Tourist Board.
