July 4, 2023 – Meet the lesser-known but extremely successful sector where Croatia is attracting international talent – educational excellence with Algebra University College.
Croatia is famous for its tourism attracting millions of foreign visitors. And now, with the success of unicorns Rimac and Infobip, there is a growing tide of foreigners coming to work for these and other successful Croatian startups.
But there is one other sector which is attracting increasing international attention, largely due to the educational excellence at Algebra University College – studying in Croatia.
I have been watching the growth of Algebra since I first came across it several years ago. A private college offering high-quality and relevant Post-Graduate and Masters degrees in relevant topics for the digital age. Summer and winter courses for students, as well as those still in school. A college that seemingly transcended the joys of Croatian bureaucracy and just got things done in such a way that foreign students started coming all over the world to study in Zagreb.
Quite how successful – and quite how fast it was growing – soon became apparent when not only did they move into an outstanding 110 million kuna custom-made facility in Zagreb a couple of years ago (learn more here), but Algebra also formed a partnership with Goldsmiths University in London to offer UK degrees for students studying in Zagreb at Algebra University College.
The number of students from all over the world who were choosing Zagreb as the place to do their undergraduate and postgraduate was impressive. We have done several interviews with these students over the years, and it is very instructive to see the reasons why they are choosing to study in Croatia. Croatia is a beautiful but very small part of the planet, and it is perhaps not surprising that such a forward-thinking college might have its eyes on some international projects and partnerships beyond these fair shores.
And so ABC Bootcamps was born, a separate division of Algebra operating academic boot camps in no less than Silicon Valley and Toronto. As the official website explains:
