The festival of street art “Nema Labavo” will be held from 18 to 22 November in Split. The first day of the event will include the opening of the exhibition “Medika Putuje” in Praktika gallery, organized by Otompotom Association from Zagreb, reports Dalmatinski Portal on November 16, 2015.

Association Rhombus and its associates will bring to Split numerous important names of street art who will present their works at the exhibition and by painting walls. The musical part of the festival will include performances by Borghesia from Slovenia and DJ duo LILACUBE & Funk Guru from Zagreb.

The opening is conceived as a gathering with the authors of presented works, who will come to Split specially for the event to discuss their works.

The “Medika Putuje” exhibition will present works by twenty artists, including many well-known names in the world of street art – Borko Vukosav, Miron Milić, Monika Meglić, Chez 186, Kristijan Smok, Stipan Tadić, Vedran Gligo, Ivona Jurić, Berislav Simičić, Pavle Pavlović, Nikola Mijatović – Sitostisak Kolektiv, Mane Mei, Marina Paulenka, Josip Visković, Marina Mesar-OKO, Vančo Rebac, Melinda Šefčić, Ivan Klepac, Slave Lukarov, Nenad Laktašić and Otompotom.

Street art is currently a major trend in the world, and the city which known murals mostly through the expression of affection towards Hajduk, the beloved city football team, will now have a chance to get to know street art in a completely different context. Once again, the festival will demonstrate that painting on the walls does not always have to be vandalism, but can enrich aesthetically abandoned sites, giving them a new look and increased artistic and tourist value.

The festival is supported by the City of Split and the Ministry of Culture.
