Hook and Cook: A Different Kind of Street Food Festival in Istria

Daniela Rogulj

Thanks to Tunana Big Game Fishing, Saturday, August 20 will host the very first “Hook and Cook” fish street food festival. The festival will take place at the “Ribarski mulo” in Medulin, a town in the southern part of the Istrian peninsula.

Medulin, a famous fishing town where most of the day’s catches are immediately sent out to fish markets and the best restaurants, will have something else in mind for this event: why not keep a mix of fish for “Hook and Cook” and prepare it in varoius street food styles?

Hook and Cook will have many fish specialities for offer such as tuna burgers, tuna ceviche, and steamed Bunovo to name a few – all crafted behind the ideas of the creative culinary team from Pula eatery “Plac-e”.

Aside from “street style” fish, guests will enjoy fresh wines, craft beers, and the musical visions of various djs, morphing the old fishing pier into an evening of entertainment under the lights and stars.

For the early morning party, djs will be provided by the dj collectives “Legalize Lambada” and “Vakum”.

Hook and Cook will begin at 20h on August 20, and go into the early morning hours (until 04h) on August 21.
