Hungary Finances Children’s Playground in Vukovar

ZAGREB, October 6, 2018 – A new playground for children was opened in the Adica park in the eastern Croatian town of Vukovar on Friday, the construction of which was financed by the Hungarian government within a project that foresees the construction of five kindergartens in Croatian towns with ethnic Hungarian population.

The head of the department for Hungarians living abroad, Judit Szabo, said Hungary had secured already secured funds for that purpose.

So far we have renovated seven kindergarten facilities and built four playgrounds in towns with ethnic Hungarians, Szabo said.

Vukovar Deputy Mayor Marijan Pavliček said approximately 350 ethnic Hungarians lives in Vukovar, adding that cooperation with ethnic Hungarian population and the city authorities was very good.
