An initiative put out by the city of Vukovar, the city has now dawned the first 3D Zoo in Croatia.
Vukovar 3D Zoo boasts five 3D anamorphic images with the total size of 100m2, which was done for the city of Vukovar by the famous artist Filip Mrvelj who painted the first anamorphic image on a bridge over the Vuka river in Vukovar, writes HRTurizam on 27 December 2016.
Mayor Ivan Penava said the new images will certainly share the same success as the first image in Vukovar. “Thanks to the celebrated artist Filip Mrvelj, on the promenade in the center of Vukovar, we received 5 more of these images which will certainly provoke enthusiasm among the citizens of the city of Vukovar and its visitors, because this is something extraordinary,” said Penava.
Artist Filip Mrvelj says he did not expect such a large buzz from the first 3D image he created, which erupted in many positive reactions that were recorded in all local and national media, and social networks. These 3D anamorphic images or pictures are an illusion of a three-dimensional space and are made on PVC linoleum, which is attached to the concrete background. Otherwise, the anamorphic image gets a 3D effect when viewed from a single point with the use of lenses (cell phone, camera).
The Vukovar 3D Zoo is the continuation of the project “Days of Graffiti Vukovar” and is also the second step leading to the realization of an ambitious project called “Vukovar – Port of Art” which will be realized in 2017. This project will gather the world’s best artists in the world of 3D anamorphic images.
“With the new social content and innovation in the social infrastructure we want to change the perspective of the town of Vukovar and raise and improve the quality of life, taking into account that it is precisely this form of art that creates a great interaction with not only the locals, but also tourists because of its attractiveness.”
The value of contracted works cost around 33.750,00 kn and was financed by the City of Vukovar.
