This festive weekend of Christmas 2016 brought a very high increase in the number of arrivals and overnight stays in Dubrovnik.

According to reports from the system E-visitor which receives registration and deregistration of tourists per day, on 24 December 2016 in Dubrovnik there were 1,389 arrivals, which is an increase of 3 times and 1,948 overnight stays, which is an increase of 2 times. Most guests who spent the Christmas weekend in Dubrovnik were from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Korea, Croatia, the United Kingdom, the USA, and Japan, reports HRTurizam on 27 December 2016.

“The rich holiday program, beautiful winter weather and the beauty of our city have contributed to these achievements of tourist traffic, and for the upcoming feast of the New Year we are also expecting to be more successful than last year’s travel. Last year in Dubrovnik for New Year’s Eve less than five thousand guests stayed, while for the last weekend of 2016 we expect about a 5% percent better performance in the number of arrivals and overnight stays,” says the Dubrovnik Tourist Board

In total in Dubrovnik from the beginning of the year (January 1 to December 24, 2016), the city has recorded 1,005,873 arrivals, an increase of 12 percent, and 3,463,535 overnights or an increase of 13 percent. In total, most tourists are coming from: United Kingdom, Germany, USA, France, Croatia, Spain, Sweden, Finland, Australia, Italy and so on.

It should be noted that the system eVisitor did not include nautical guests in 2016.
