Split will celebrate this special day of jazz music on April 30, 2019.

The Croatian Music Union, as a non-profit association and the umbrella organization of musicians and all other musicians, marks International Jazz Day on April 30, 2019. Namely, International Jazz Day was declared by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in 2011 “to highlight jazz and its diplomatic role of uniting people in all corners of the globe”, writes Wikipedia.

The event is traditionally celebrated each year on April 30 and is chaired by jazz pianist Herbie Hancock who is also a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador. Both the United Nations and UNESCO recognize the celebration.
