The opening event was attending by over 3,000 people!
Mirnovec – the largest investment in entertainment in Croatia (15 million EUR) was officially opened on Thursday night after a two-week trial period, reports Vecernji List and HRTurizam on August 4, 2017.
The opening ceremony was attended 3,000 eager thrill-seekers, the owner of Fun Park Mirnovec, Franjo Koletić, and the Minister of State Property, Goran Marić who expressed his satisfaction with this investment by saying that without investment there would be no employment.
“It’s hard to impress me, but I am quite thrilled to see this investment because without it there would be no employment, and every new investment stimulates employment,” said Minister Marić.
He continued by saying that 120 people are employed at Mirnovec Park, and around one thousand worked on the construction of the facility – and particularly pleasing is the fact that all workers were either local or from Croatia.
Marić stressed that this investment is an example of how local autonomy should be addressed to investors.
“I have heard only praise of Biograd’s mayor Ivan Knez, and with mayors like this, there will be the investment. How great it would be if everything in Croatia could be done this way,” Marić added. He also congratulated the investor who, as he said, dared to invest in Croatia during this time while it is known to be unfavorable.
Fun Park Mirnovec is the first thematic fun park in Croatia for children and adults that is inspired by world-famous adrenaline entertainment centers. The park is 45,000 square meters long and was designed by Italian architect Franco Barazzoni, known as one of the best and most famous designers for entertainment parks in the world. Fun Park Mirnovec can accommodate between 5,000 and 8,000 people, and the annual number of visitors will be around 150,000-180,000.
The project has been supported by the Ministry of Tourism since its inception, and through the Business Competitiveness in Tourism program, it was co-financed with a grant of 170,000 HRK.
”Croatia is this year’s hit destination, which is confirmed by the results of tourist traffic so far. These results would not be possible without the quality of cooperation between the private and public sector, or for example, any initiative that contributes to the enhancement of quality of supply and services. This project will certainly have a positive impact on the attractiveness and recognizability of the destination, the extension of the season, employment, and the linking of stakeholders in tourism. Tourism is an experience and an industry of emotions, and that’s why this is an extraordinary opportunity for Croatia to once again present itself as a destination far more than the sun and the sea, but as a destination that can offer many interesting attractions that can round off the Croatian tourist story,” said the Minister of Tourism Gari Cappelli.
Mirnovec Fun Park currently employs 120 people, of which 20 are permanent, while the remaining work is filled by students and seasonal workers. The park is divided into three parts – the Wild West, the Universe and Pirate City, each offering a combination of attractions and games for children, teenagers and whole families. There are 30 attractions in total at Fun Park Mirnovec.
