After a successful run in Istria and an obvious expansion to Zagreb County, LegendFest has a new location this year: National Park Krka!
With myths, legends, and stories based around Sibenik-Knin County, this year’s LegendFest will be held for the first time in the already majestic and fairytale-esque location of NP Krka. And let’s not forget one of the best parts to this year’s festival, that being the theme – fairies!
Fairies, being crucially present in many traditional Croatian beliefs, are symbols of happiness, longing, and beauty. In addition to God and the saints, fairies are looked to as a “model-being”, maintaining constant faith from the common person.
In the midst of the pristine nature of Krka, under the Roski Waterfall, within the Ozidane Cave, and through the old water mills, old legends and stories from the Dalmatian hinterland will be read. Visitors will get to experience the wealth of tangible and intangible cultural heritage of this unique county, with fairies as the protagonists going through the stories of life.
Come be a part of LegendFest, taking place at NP Krka from July 9th-July 10th. This festival will be enjoyed through various workshops, storytellings, interactive performances, lectures and concerts.
LegendFest is jointly organized by the association Val Kulture (Wave of Culture) and National Park Krka.
