Lights, Camera, Action: Largest Cinema in Dalmatia Opening in Mall of Split

The new multiplex will have nine cinema halls, and one will boast smelly screens and moving seats!

The people of Split and its surrounding areas will be able to enjoy a unique cinema experience as the CINESTAR SPLIT 4DX ™ multiplex will open in the Mall of Split shopping mall next weekend. A Blitz-CineStar project, the brand new cinema will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology that brings movie viewing to an entirely new level, reports Jutarnji List and Dalmatinski Portal on November 24, 2017.

“The largest cinema in Dalmatia will have a total of nine halls and 1,386 seats. Inside the unique eXtreme hall, the 4DX ™ hall is arousing great interest, which CineStar is bringing to Split thanks to an exclusive contract with CJ 4DPLEX, a world leader in 4DX technology which is present in 50 countries with over 49,000 4DX seats in 400 multiplexes. By opening this 4DX hall, Split, as the third Croatian city after Zagreb and Rijeka, is listed on the 4DX cities map of the world. Films of all Hollywood studios will be screened at the 4DX ™ hall in the new CineStar Split, and one of the first will be Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” explained Blitz-Cinestar.

With the new multiplex in Split, CineStar will offer its visitors the opportunity to combine loyalty club benefits and online ticket purchases for two cinemas at two locations (Joker Center and Mall of Split), featuring a total of 14 cinema halls to offer the most extensive selection of movies at any time.

“The speciality of the new CineStar multiplexer is its superb technological capability, enabling an entirely new level of the cinema experience. Namely, this latest generation cinema will be another cinema in Croatia, along with the Kaptol Boutique Cinema in Zagreb, which is fully equipped with Barco laser projectors. The latest laser technology, with the incredible amount of light it can produce, also provides higher picture contrast than standard digital projectors, making the image noticeably more quality and easier on the human eye, which is particularly impressive with effective 3D projections. The speciality of this hall is the more than 15 special effects, of which the latest, snow, will be tested out first by Split viewers. The 4DX ™ special effects, the most attractive of which are water, bubbles, fog, air, movement, light, smell, wind, snow, and rain storm, contribute to a more realistic viewing experience, helping viewers to really feel a terrible storm, gentle breeze, a smoke blast or the pleasant scent of coffee.”

Along with cutting-edge technology, the new Split cinema will also feature an interior that will incorporate state-of-the-art technology and the design of renowned interior designers. The CineCafe bar is unique, modernly designed cafe whose decoration is featured by the duo Dean Franić and Saša Šekoranja, already famous for their design of the Kaptol Boutique Cinema. Visitors to Split’s CineStar 4DX ™ will also enjoy CineStar’s already recognizable services, such as “My Cine Wednesdays”, matinee movies, family packages, birthday celebrations and a loyalty program that enables saving and online tickets for both Split CineStars.
