September 9, 2019 – Meet Lovro Dokic – Croatia’s youngest Paralympian in Alpine Skiing who could very well be Croatia’s next biggest pop singer.
Lovro Dokic, a favorite of the Croatian talent show ‘Zvijezde -Ljetni Hit’, released a music video for his first single ‘Budi Tu’, which was filmed along the Opatija Riviera.
While Dokic’s musical talent seems impressive enough, there is much more this 17-year-old has to offer. Namely, Dokic is also Croatia’s youngest Paralympic skier and only made his first public appearance as a singer recently. He was the only candidate on ‘Zvijezde – Ljetni Hit’ to make famous Croatian producer and songwriter Tonci Huljic cry from his touching performance.
Born without his left arm, Lovro never let his handicap stand in the way of his dreams. After fighting a childhood of prejudice, Lovro today is a Croatian inspiration.
As he currently prepares for the next Paralympic Games in 2020, Lovro balances school, swimming, piano and, of course, putting his stunning vocal cords to use.
It didn’t take long for producers to recognize Lovro’s talent, irresistible charisma and mature vocals through his appearance on ‘Zvijezde – Ljetni Hit”, and he was soon offered the chance to collaborate.
For his debut, Lovro chose an emotional, gentle ballad with a modern touch that has listeners fall in love at first listen.
In his single “Budi Tu”, the music, arrangement and music production are done by Tomo Bacurin Lima, lyrics by Danijel Vrban, while the video was directed by Bruno Grguric and Stella Lutz, whose work Lovro only praises:
“When I heard the song made by Tomo and Daniel, I could not believe that they had decided to give it to me and that they were convinced that I would present it exactly as they had imagined. The song is all I wanted – a gentle and emotional melody with strong lyrics. We were accompanied by super energy and fun all the time. The crew was extremely professional and at the same time very entertaining, and the locations on the Opatija Riviera were breathtaking.”
The music video features Opatija beaches, the ACI marina in Icici, as well as the Bevanda restaurant in Opatija town.
Although still young, Lovro has stepped ambitiously toward the Croatian pop star sky – and judging by his fantastic first single, he will soon reach the top.
