Armand Assante came to Zagreb for an eye surgery.
The famous Hollywood actor Armand Assante is against visiting Croatia, but this time not for work, but for health reasons. The 69-year-old actor came to Zagreb to resolve an eye-vision issue at Dr. Nikica Gabrić’s “Svjetlost” clinic, reports Večernji List on October 17, 2018.
The actor came to Zagreb following an advice received from Ivana Trump, the former wife of US President Donald Trump.
“I had four free days and I have decided to come to Croatia thanks to the top expert Nikica Gabrić in order to resolve my vision problems. I literally came from the plane to the clinic and in less than two hours I was examined and operated on. Now I have the perfect vision, better than at any time during the last ten years,” said Assante after the surgery.
The actor is working on a new film in New York, and he has decided to take a brief break from filming to solve his heath issue. “I am doing a job where 75 percent of the time is spent reading, studying documents and watching movies, which is hard for my eyes. The eyes are the window to the soul of the world. That is why it was a very important decision for me to decide whom I will entrust with my vision. Experience, knowledge and state-of-the-art technology provided by the Svjetlost clinic and Dr. Gabrić proved to be the best choice. The surgery was short, painless and there aren’t any problems. I am sure that the better vision will help me do an even better job in the future, as well make my everyday life easier,” said the famous actor.
Assante last visited to Croatia in June when he filmed the first part of the “Croatian Trilogy” by Jakov Sedlar. “I went for a walk in Dugo Selo, and I was delighted. It is very quiet and nature is beautiful. Although I like to work in Hollywood, I have never been attracted to life there because the pace is quick. I have a property near New York, and for a long time I had horses and cows there. That is a life I like and that is why I enjoy Dugo Selo,” said the famous actor at the time.
