The Health Minister is satisfied with the abilities of the emergency services in the Pearl of the Adriatic.

As DuList reported on the 18th of June, 2017, Health Minister Milan Kujundžić was in attendance of a demonstration exercise in Dubrovnik today which showcased the swift, immediate care procedure of an injured person by use of a helicopter. The Health Minister stressed that this exercise shows how efficiently we are approaching life saving rescue missions and that every person who needs urgent intervention, will get it.

Newly re-elected Dubrovnik-Neretva County Prefect Nikola Dobroslavić echoed Kujundzic’s sentiments and emphasised that absolutely nothing is more important than human life.

“Today we have testified that we will save lives, and our role is to save everything that is possible to save. Human life is the most important. I would like to thank the Institute for Emergency Medicine and the Ministry of Interior for supporting this project. The fact is that in just a couple of minutes, rescue can arrive from the Airport and take care of the injured [efficiently]”. – Dobroslavić stated.

Otherwise, the Emergency Helicopter Medical Service in Dubrovnik-Neretva County began work just a few days ago and was established by the Agreement between the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Health and the Dubrovnik-Neretva County in May 2017, following a successful pilot project in the summer season of 2016.

The cooperation agreement covers the transport of those with life-threatening injuries, otherwise physically injured and ill persons in the area of Dubrovnik-Neretva County during the period from June the 12th to October the 1st, 2017, enabling the timely provision of emergency helicopter medical care to all emergency patients on remote islands, roads and even inaccessible/hard to access areas during the height of the tourist season.
