Emerald City is a new American fantasy TV series developed for NBC.

Croatian scenery is no stranger to the backdrops of your favorite TV shows. While the world-famous Game of Thrones used Dubrovnik’s walled city as the setting for King’s Landing, and the picturesque sites of Baška Boda, NP Krka, Rijeka, and the Velebit mountains were used to revive the famous German Winnetou films, it was surely time for one of Croatia’s most famous attractions to have their moment in the spotlight.

Plitvice lakes – Croatia’s largest national park – serves as the backdrop for a new NBC series titled Emerald City, reports on January 30, 2017. A modern version of the famous book series Oz, Emerald City is set in the fictional land of Oz, with the waterfalls of Plivice surely providing just the right amount of wonder for the occassion.

The trailer for the new television show was released on January 6, and you can view it below.

While Plitvice Lakes are always breathtaking, this winter has proven to be even more beautiful than ever. Thanks to colder temperatures and a hefty amount of snow, Plitvice transformed into the ultimate winter wonderland – and if you don’t remember how truly spectacular it is – we’re here to remind you once more through the eyes of a husky.

It’s no wonder why Emerald City used Plitvice Lakes as the perfect setting for Oz, who wouldn’t?
