In Medulin next month?
The very first “Rocks & Stars Festival” is being held in the old Roman quarry known as Cave Romane in Vinkuran in the municipality of Medulin, located just outside of Pula.
The imposing quarry space will become a multi functional open air cultural stage that delivers natural elegance and an incredible ambience. The festival will not only attract domestic and foreign visitors, but a variety of top performers who will showcase their genius and talent in a completely different and unusual environment between the 28th of June and the 15th of August, 2018.
Dates and Performers:
28th of June, 2018 – Maksim Mrvica
With over four million albums sold and with an excess of 100 million YouTube hits, the award winning Maksim Mrvica from Croatia is the biggest selling classical crossover pianist in the world.
9th of July, 2018 – Ivan Šarić
The popular Croatian comedian will perform his comedy stand up show.
28th of July, 2018 – Darko Rundek
The singer-songwriter Darko Rundek is a regular composer and actor for theatre and film. He is currently touring with the APOCALYPSO NOW and Rundek Cargo Trio.
31st of July, 2018 – Stefan Milenkovich
One of the great violinists of his generation will perform a solo recital. Having seen this maestro perform last year in Opatija, I can’t recommend him enough. There are very few concerts when a music photographer puts the camera down for five minutes and just watches and listens, but this was one of those rare occasions.
9th of August, 2018 – Bond
The best selling string quartet of all time with Tania Davis, Eos Counsell, Elspeth Hansonand, and Gay-Yee Westerhoff, will perform their incredible Electric String Quartet show. The Australian/British string quartet specialises in classical crossover and synth-pop music.
15th of August, 2018 – Ricchi e Poveri
The hugely popular Italian pop band will be playing several of their greatest hits from the last fifty years, as well as their new single ”Marikita”.

The creative director of the festival and board member of the Medulin Riviera, Diana Kiršić Rosanda, said: ”an area like the Cave Romane quarry insists on a worthy program, and with the first Rocks & Stars Festival, we hit the rock foundation and set up a standard for holding events in the Medulin Municipality because we aim to put the destination on the map of world renowned and well-known cultural and entertainment events.”
Charity:
Proceeds and collected funds from the event will go towards a donation for an incubator for the General Hospital in Pula.
