The annual international competition Rovinj Photodays is now open for submissions
The International Competition of Contemporary Photography – 11th Rovinj Photodays 2018 kicked off earlier today, reports Glas Istre on December 7, 2017. The contest is open to all practising photographers worldwide, and anyone looking to participate can send in their work until January 31, 2018.
According to official rules of the contest, photographers can apply in one or multiple themed categories: architecture, fashion, landscapes, portrait, nudes/body, documentary photography, and artistic concept, the last being composed of a minimum of eight and a maximum of sixteen photos.
Once when the contest is closed for applications, all submitted photographs will be sent to a judging panel for a two-tier selection process. A panel of national selectors will choose a total of five best submissions in each category in the first round, sending them to the head selector who will decide on the winners.
The finalists will be announced on the official website, with three of the best submissions nominated in each category getting presented in a traveling exhibition, a festival catalogue, on the Rovinj Photodays website, and in the media.
After the second round of the selection process, the head selector will decide on a single festival winner, granting them the Grand Prix award and a solo exhibition in the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Zagreb.
Here’s a quick rundown of the rules of entry, as stated on Rovinj Photodays website:
