Are changes finally coming to Hvar town?
After winning the race for mayor of Hvar, Rikardo Novak promised his fellow citizens that he would aim his efforts towards “calming down” the debaucherous tourists seen in the town’s center throughout the summer, reports Dalmacija Danas on July 8, 2017.
Novak has, to our delight, remained true to his word, and has already taken the initiative and first steps to combating the drunk and disorderly with clever new signage that can be seen in the town.
At the entrance to Hvar town, a new sign has been introduced outlining the bans and punishment penalties for tourists.
The sign clearly displays that tourists will no longer be able to walk around the city center in their swimsuits because they can receive a 500 to 600 EUR fine, while the punishment for public drinking is 700 EUR.
The sign reads “Save Your Money and Enjoy Hvar” next to the official trademark of Hvar town.
Here’s a closer look.
