The Split Advent Advisory Committee met on Tuesday where the Split Mayor addressed the group from the road via a video call.

This year’s Advent and Christmas festivities in Split, titled ‘Winter Watercolors’, will be the most extravagant, diverse, and beautiful yet, said the Split City Administration on Tuesday, reports Dalmatinski Portal on November 13, 2018.

“The city is ready, with only the small details left to shine Split in the best light and offer its citizens the true magic of communion and joy,” said the Advent Committee on Tuesday, which is led by Antonia Maletić on behalf of the City of Split. Split Mayor Andro Krstulović-Opara called into the meeting from the road via a video call, and said that Split’s ‘Winter Watercolors’ this year is more lavish than ever; a program tailored to families and children.

“Adding attributes to a tourist offer and comparing it with other cities is not our need or goal. We are focused on restoring life to the city center and new locations. I’m sure everyone involved will contribute to a great organization, and a peaceful, safe and pleasant Advent and Christmas atmosphere in Split,” the Mayor said as an introduction to a meeting which included city services, companies, and partners involved in the organization of this year’s holiday event.

By the end of the week, the final program will be finalized, which will be presented to the public shortly after. The program begins on December 1st at 5 pm with a children’s program at Đardin, followed by the lighting of the first Advent candle on the wreath around the fountain at Đardin. The evening will continue will an opening concert featuring Giuliano on the Riva.

“For more than a month we have been planning a variety of interesting, entertaining, and cultural content that, we believe, our fellow citizens will look forward to,” concluded the Split City Administration.
