Calling all movie buffs and cinephiles, the new season of Summer Cinema Gradec starts today!

The 8th edition of Summer Cinema Gradec (Ljetno kino Gradec), located on a small plateau next to the Catherine’s Square starts today, Thursday, August 3 at 9 P.M. In 32 days, until September 3, the Summer Cinema Gradec will feature 32 movies of all genres and from various countries. There will be some new films, some old ones, films by famous auteurs such as Martin Scorcese and Woody Allen, and films by up-and-coming directors. So far, during the festival’s seven years, more than 100 thousand movie-goers have attended the event, packing the place almost every night. So, we advise you come at least half an hour prior to the screening, as the seating capacity quickly gets full pretty quickly.

We recommend you don’t miss the incredible Captain Fantastic (August 4), The Salesman, Iranian drama which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film (August 7) and The Last Waltz, a music documentary by Martin Scorcese (August 9).

The organisers have also prepared a delicious gourmet programme for visitors to enjoy while chilling on the “Chestnut terrace”.
